Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Today was my first day of a little cross training action.  I got 1 hour and 10 minutes riding a bike while Tom did his run.  I am glad we gave our daughter a new, soft seat for her bike for her b-day last week.  :o)   I'm not counting any cross training miles because at the end of the year I want to look and see how many miles I actually ran this year.

Kim thanks for the company this morning, it helped a lot while I was doing the faster miles, although it probably seemed like I was a bit grumpy and unsociable.

Hope the biking and all the other stuff you're doing will do the trick to get that IT band good and happy by the end of next week.

The bike is COOL! Eh? It has taken me a while to like it, but now I quite enjoy it. Especially the cushy seat I bought. If your hands start to bug you, biking gloves really help. Have a gREAT day :)

Sending you lots of positive vibes!!

I think as soon as you feel any pain on your ITB it is time to stop the workout and rest for days. I like your idea to just rest until the marathon. Do a little easy stretching every day and rest up for the race. The Goal is to finish the marathon not to break any records. I think it is possible if you rest & easy stretch & pray.

Unfortunatly both you and Tom will probably not do a well as seemed possible a few weeks ago but I guess we should be happy we can run and have friends.

With all your PMA you will for sure be ready come M-day.

From Kim on Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 11:10:08

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling the positive vibes and prayers!

Terry, No matter what I accomplish on M-day will be a record for me! I've never even been to the starting line of a marathon, so one step over the line will be something I have never done before!

Britta: I'm not catching onto what PMA is. I'm just hoping it has nothing to do with PMS!

Positiive Mental Attitude. Usually does not occur with PMS! Ha Ha!!!
